Committed $1 million to help complete the long-awaited South Morro Hills vision plan that will secure a future for local farming. Pledged to improve roads, sewer and water systems that local farmers need to thrive through the growth of agritourism.
Reduced the number of homes per acre by more than half, from 5.6 to 2.73 homes per acre.
Added 37 acres of working farmland and open space. Now 40 percent of the property is protected for agriculture and outdoor enjoyment, with 17 acres of public parks and a multi-use trail system.
The village core includes plans for a new brewery-restaurant, a farmers market, ecology learning center and outdoor gathering spaces.
Committed $4.5 million to widen the College Boulevard Bridge from four lanes to six, along with more than a dozen other road improvements as part of a $40 million infrastructure upgrade package.
Providing the land and funding for equipment and long-term staffing for an all new fire station to serve the community.
